How BU can help new players to Brighton

So what is Ultimate Frisbee?

Ultimate is an exciting, non-contact team sport, played by thousands all over the world. It mixes the best features of sports such as Football, Basketball, American Football and Netball into an elegantly simple yet fascinating and demanding game. Go here for an overview of the rules.

So you’re new huh?

Brighton gets most of its new players through the two universities.  If that’s you, or you’ve played ultimate before, then check out the headings below.  If you’re new to Brighton frisbee and frisbee altogether then we do have initiatives that should be suitable for you.  Even aimed at you!  It just depends when in the year they run.  At the end of the day though we welcome all new people to our club, regardless of their skills, athleticism or drive.  Get in touch to see what’s running next and what you can involve yourself in. The calendar should also help.

I’m a local University student

If you’re a student at either of the universities then your best bet is to contact the clubs there.  At the beginning of each academic year they heavily encourage new players and have excellent opportunities for you to play and get involved.  Our clubs & teams page has the contact information you need.  That’s not to say we won’t have you!  If you’re brand new to the sport then we might have initiatives running or if not contact us and we’ll happy help.  If you’re an old hand at frisbee then definitely get involved with your university team (they’ll love to have you) and then come along to our practice sessions.

I’ve played before and coming to Brighton short/long term

Come along to our practice sessions and say hello.  You might want to email ahead if you want someone to introduce you. Monday nights are proper coached training sessions whilst Tuesdays are very casual. If you want to get involved with a tour team then check out this page for that.
